We are an interdisciplinary research group broadly interested in exploring the bi-directional communication between the nervous system and cancer. Our primary focus is to understand how peripheral changes caused by tumor disrupt neural circuits in the brain. Reciprocally, we investigate how manipulation of neural signaling influences tumor initiation and progression. The overall goal of research is to exploit vulnerabilities in neural signaling for better cancer therapy. Specifically, we are actively pursuing the following research directions:

(1) Understanding how the brain senses and responds to peripheral changes induced by tumor;

(2) Investigating sympathetic neuronal regulation of peripheral tumor growth;

(3) Dissecting the cellular origin and molecular signaling in pediatric brain tumor.
